If you’re planning a party, I’ve got you. I just did a solo Costco run in Hawaii to prep for my baby shower, and the deli section honestly delivered. Whether it’s a shower, birthday, or family hangout, the 2025 party platter options are still solid—easy to grab, big portions, and way cheaper than other spots.
I handled everything myself this time—no backup, no stress—and I’m sharing exactly what’s available now, what’s missing, and how to order without the usual chaos.
Costco Deli Update: What Made Me Happy (and What’s Discontinued)
Walking into Costco with a full heart and high hopes, I was ready to find something exciting, new, and memorable. And honestly? The options were good – really good – but not very different from what I’ve seen before.
The older Croissant Sandwich Platter (my favorite!) was missing. That one always made me feel a certain kind of happy. When I saw it was gone, I got emotional. I mean, it was my thing! But let me not get too sad yet… because the Shrimp Platter? That saved my mood. So fresh, so elegant, and always a crowd favorite.

Wait!
- All official platters must be pre-ordered in-store at the deli.
- Unofficial ones? You’ll find them in some stores, already made and chilling in the fridge section.
- Selection depends on location, so always check ahead if you’re planning a party!
Don’t forget to order the Costco Cake for your special event—Costco Desserts are my favorite, and I know you love them too!
Here’s How You Order these Platters
- Visit your local Costco in person (yes, still no online option).
- Head to the Deli section and grab an order form.
- Fill out your choices, date/time, and your Costco membership info.
- Drop the form in the box at the deli desk.
For More Detail check out the Complete Process of ordering Party Platters.
Best Way:
Go in person to your Costco deli. Use the kiosk, fill out the form, and drop it in. Done.
Order at least 24 hours ahead—no payment needed until pickup.
Want to call instead?
Dial 1-800-774-2678 (Costco Member Services). Ask if your store takes phone orders.
Not all do, so it’s hit or miss. They can give you your local deli’s direct number too.
Also, when you’re walking past the deli, just know there’s a little smell—not bad, just different from the rest of Costco. The food court though? Smells so good (that pizza and chicken bake always make me happy). But yeah, I always get this little fear… like, what if they removed more stuff? I still miss the Croissant Sandwich Platter. Seriously.
What’s NOT Available Anymore
- Chicken & Swiss Rollers (aka pinwheel sandwiches)
- Croissant Sandwich Platter (still grieving this one)
These two were always top picks in my house. I really wish Costco would bring them back or add something fresh to the mix. We need more variety!
Don’t worry about those seasonal or “only at some stores” platters—I’ve got you! I’ll be sharing a full post soon that breaks down which Costco locations carry what, and the best time to find those limited or regional trays.
What Makes Costco Platters Worth It?
- Portion size: Feeds a lot, so perfect for parties
- Price: Can’t beat it compared to other stores
- Taste: Always fresh and consistent
I checked out prices at Sam’s Club and Whole Foods too. Let’s just say… Costco is still the MVP when it comes to value.
Pro Tips from a Real Costco Shopper
- Don’t go on weekends or right before holidays – too crowded!
- Go early on Tuesday–Thursday, ideally 10:30 AM or after 7 PM.
- For cakes, check Walmart Bakery (they’re gorgeous!)
- Need drinks? Sam’s Club is cheaper than Costco.
- Dollar Tree is perfect for party supplies and decorations.
Mixing and matching stores = the secret to an unforgettable party without blowing your budget!

What People Always Ask About Costco Platters
You have to go in person—Costco doesn’t offer online ordering. Just grab the order form at the deli, fill it out, and drop it in. Do it at least 24 hours ahead.
Right now, they’ve got Shrimp, Fruit-Meat-Cheese, and Sprouted-Grain Sandwich platters. Some stores also have veggie trays, fruit bowls, sushi, buffalo wings, and chicken rollers ready to grab.
The Shrimp Platter is always a hit. If you want variety, go for the Fruit-Meat-Cheese or Sandwich Tray.
Totally. Most options come out to around $1.50–$2.50 per person—way cheaper than other stores.
Order at least 24 hours in advance. Around holidays? Play it safe and order 48 hours early.
Each tray has 10 sandwiches cut in half—about 20 halves total. It’s great for 10–14 people if it’s not the only food.
